Valentines – For the Broken Hearted

So, Valentine’s Day is upon us yet again! It is usually a day that people celebrate love, but what about those that are suffering a broken heart and are full of emotion? I cannot imagine how many of you are feeling this pain, a loss, a grievance- all the colour has been drained away. You want to die and feel peace away from it all, but that is not the way! You need to look at yourself in the mirror and see your self-worth- because that is what relationship break ups do to you- they make you feel like you have lost everything- but you have not- I assure you! Sometimes, and especially in nature everything is reborn- and so are you. Never give up ever! Live another day and become so much stronger and realise that they just were not the one for you- that is it in a nutshell!

Artists of all kinds, music, art, performers have used the broken heart in a positive way by expressing this emotion and pain through their art, some of the best songs and art works have been created by experiencing great pain- maybe that is something to celebrate, after all time is a healer and we hopefully have learned some lessons from the experience.

They say that one falls in love four times in their life- not sure I agree but then at the time we felt in love, we felt we loved and we definitely felt the pain when that left our being, but new chapters arrive which are full of colour and give us back that spring in our step, we hold our heads high and experience the wonderful feelings such as butterflies, hill top attempts at shouting it out to the world- love can and will come back again.

I feel for those that get bitter about it, that keep the light out with the dark, that close their hearts to a new, colourful, and more meaningful relationship.

I wrote about the art of love last year and whether it can be mastered- I do not think it can, but I believe whole heartedly that each relationship and love interest bring new colours and flavours to our life.

So, to all the broken hearted out there, it will get better, you will love and be loved again- just give it a chance. Pick yourself up and crack on. Do something creative, and express yourself in whatever way possible, write a poem or song, or better still draw a portrait picture of your ex, perhaps a caricature and pin it to the dart board- the rest is history and surely could be fun!

Happy Valentine’s Day to the Broken Hearted- may your next chapter begin!
